** Hello, my dearest and shiniest of friends…

This post was supposed to be for Romantic Monday, but I finished it early and couldn’t wait until then to publish. I’m impatient sometimes. Please be sure to get your own Romantic Monday posts ready, visit Mr. Silly Person’s Blog, and link up!

And without further ADO, I give you…

MY LOVER’S ARMS

*

My lover’s arms are long and lanky,

Which makes them perfect for

Securing

A bouncy girl with ADHD

Who wants to run away into herself.

*

My lover’s arms are mighty

When he uses them to

Embrace

A woman so emotional

And ready for an epic battle.

*

My lover’s arms are sexy

As they present me with flowers

Showering

His bride with unexpected joy

Just because he felt like it.

*

My lover’s arms are unyielding

In the middle of the night

Caressing

My familiar and pleasing body

Leaving me breathless.

*

My lover’s arms are gentle

As he picks up his baby girl

Swinging

Her in circles while giggling

And being her first love.

*

My lover’s arms are protective

As he wraps them around my shoulders

Shielding

His beloved from the darkness

She allows to enter into her mind.

*

My lover’s arms are patient

While they rest upon his son

Reassuring

His boy of his unfailing love for him

Even when that boy is not perfect.

*

My lover’s arms are an alliance

Born on an October wedding day

Anchoring

A wayward ship lost at sea

To a harbor deep within his soul.

*

My lover’s arms are steadfast

Living with this fickle heart

Cultivating

A meandering and invasive vine

Into a landscape of contentment.

*

My lover’s arms are contemplative

As his hands are folded on his lap

Praying

For guidance over every step

And for help to be more than he already is.

*

My lover’s arms are weak

When for the first time they

Held

His firstborn baby boy

Who was instead a very pink baby GIRL.

*

My lover’s arms are compassionate

An example of chivalry and humbleness

Helping

Those who are less fortunate than he

Bringing hope where there once was none.

*

My lover’s arms are mine

To have and to hold

Surrounding

This unpredictable tornado

With a hurricane of calm.
